On 6 May 2004 the meeting was held at Akhalkalaki Office of Legal Consultation Centre. Tengiz Agdgomeladze - the chief of Traffic Police, Aleksander Kurdadze – the chief of Regional Department of Finance Police and Ilia Zavarashvili - the chief of Inspection Group of Traffic Police of Samtskhe-Javakheti met Samtskhe-Javakheti population. The necessity for a meeting arose from the applications of the population. A Great number of citizens applied the office, having problems with Traffic Police (price of Technical Inspection of vehicles, the problems in taking Driver’s License, illegal checking procedures of cars and the facts of bribing the citizens).  

The population spoke about their problems connected to Traffic Police and asked to solve them, to work out the methods of solving any possible problems in the future.

            At the meeting the population were given the booklets about the rights of a driver, forms and amount of fines, the methods of paying fines (in most cases the policemen ask to pay more than defined by the law and the drivers have no chance of checking the legality of asked amount). The agreement among the staff of Legal Consultation Centre, the chief of Regional Traffic Police and the population about “the methods of quick reaction” was prepared. In the case of illegal action of traffic police the citizen will contact the Legal Consultation Centres (Akhaltsikhe, Akhalkalaki and Ninotsminda), regional governing bodies of Traffic Police, if necessary, the governing bodies of Traffic Police and the office staff will arrive at the spot and will solve the problem. 

The prices of Technical Inspection of cars were discussed and the procedures and prices of taking Driver’s license. The population asked and at the Legal Consultation Centre booklets are prepared about the procedures and prices of Technical Inspection of cars.

The chief of Regional Department of Finance Police gave the population the list of documentations necessary for transporting freight.

The participants of the meeting stated that at the meeting they got a lot of necessary information (before the meeting they were not aware not only the procedures and prices of Technical Inspection of cars but the amount of fines they had to pay in the case abrogation); they expressed hope for solving the existing problems with Traffic Police.
