Schools of Akhaltsikhe district are in exceedingly poor state. In most cases the state funding is not sufficient to resolve even half of their problems. Besides, the state debt to teachers is high enough.

So as to discus these and other issues the meeting was arranged at Akhaltsikhe Office of the Legal Consultation Center (LCC) on 20^th of April, 2004. The meeting was attended by: teachers of Akhaltsikhe district, Head of Regional Education Department, Assistant Gamgebeli of Akhaltsikhe district, Head of Financial Department of the district and staff members of LCC.

The subjects of discussion were dates for coverage of unpaid salaries of teachers, certification of teachers and sanitary conditions of schools.

At the meeting was disclosed that unpaid salaries of teachers will be considered in the state budget for 2004, and consequently the debts will be covered wit no doubt. In addition, representatives of Gamgeoba office of Akhaltsikhe district promised school heads to transfer 500 GEL per year in order to solve various technical problems, faced at schools.
