On 1st of July, 2004, the “Union of Democrat Mesks” lunched the project “Information for All Citizens”, funded by European Commission Delegation to Georgia and Armenia.

The project aims in improvement of access to information for the population of Samtskhe-Javakheti region. Population of the region is distinguished by its high ethnic diversity and most of non-Georgian citizens do not speak Georgian language. Thus, they fined themselves in information vacuum, what turns out in various problems.

Therefore, we decided to issue on Russian and Armenian languages weekly digest of most significant articles, printed in Georgian press. The Digest will be distributed between non-Georgian population of the region.

The project also considers establishment of juridical libraries in towns of Akhaltsikhe and Akhalkalaki. The juridical literature, legislative acts and regulations will be available at the libraries in three languages – Georgian, Russian and Armenian as far as possible.

All interested persons will have free of charge access to Digest, issued by the “Union of Democrat Meskhs”, and juridical libraries.
